TruthDig.com published an article on 18 October 2011 entitled,

that contains this paragraph:

"Occupy Someplace From Liberty Square in New York to City Hall in Los Angeles, urban camping is all the rage. Bring a tent and some signs. Donors will provide food and whatever else they can. It helps if you’re in a city like Los Angeles that supplies restroom facilities, trash bins and a sympathetic local government. No rent, free food and good company—who says the American dream is dead?"

WTF were they thinking? Scheer makes Occupy LA sound like Party Central.

I think everyone should be encouraged to "bring some signs" and participate in the marches, as well as the GA's, but the encampment should be limited to dedicated individuals who are making meaningful, worthwhile contributions to the goals of the Movement (not an easy thing to enforce to begin with). I don't think it's fair to the Movement people on site, the donors, or the City Council either, to expect them to accommodate all comers.
