Westlake District Hit-and-run Crash Kills Pedestrian on Second Street and Emerald Street

Los Angeles, California (December 31, 2016) – A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run collision in Westlake District, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. today at the intersection of 2nd and Emerald streets.

As per the article, the Los Angeles Police Department said that the pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the pedestrian, identifies as 47-year-old Eugenie Pelagio of Anaheim, died at the hospital.

The hit- and-run driver was reportedly driving a gray SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.


The fatal hit-and-run crash remains under investigation and witnesses are asked to call LAPD Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3713.
