Injuries and Possible Damage Reported in Monterey Pedestrian Accident

Monterey, California (January 5, 2016) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a car early Wednesday morning in Monterey.

The reported stated that the incident took place at about 1:07 a.m. yesterday on Castroville Boulevard, but did not indicate the particular area of Castroville in which the accident occurred.

The unidentified pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Camry, the report said. 

Responding officers found the vehicle at the scene of the accident and reported that a male driver, who appeared scared, was trying to open his door. 

The officers requested for an ambulance. 

The pedestrian sustained unspecified injuries in the crash, but the responding paramedics described the injuries as non-life-threatening. 

Limited details regarding the crash were provided. The accident remained under investigation.
