Politics is the art of negotiation and consensus building.  We should not be discussing accepting the first offer from the City.  We should immediately counter their offer with a list of DEMANDS.

Chief and primary among those demands should be access to the use of the City Council chambers on evenings and weekends.  If they want us off the lawn then we should DEMAND entry into the building.  This is about POWER (replacing theirs with ours).  The above stated demand would be a move in that direction.

We would also demand that they fulifll their current offer of assistance to the homeless.

We should shoot for the stars and attain the moon.  But to accept this first offer would be an serious misallocation of our political capital and people power.
