Mayor Villaraigosa served notice on Friday that Occupy Los Angeles is no longer welcome, the occupiers asked to leave by 12:01 AM Monday morning. This of course, caused angst and consternation amongst the occupiers, but it was by no means a surprise to anyone who has been following the news.
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — “Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is evicting the Occupy L.A. protesters from the City Hall lawn, ordering them to move by Monday.”

In response to Mayor Villaraigosa's and other CA officials comments made earlier today regarding Occupy LA:
We appreciate Mayor Villaraigosa's statement of respect as well as Senator Feinstein’s acknowledgment of the first amendment rights of the occupiers. We are deeply grateful for the support we have received from the City of Los Angeles, whose council 2 weeks ago formally announced their support for Occupy LA. As recently as this morning, Councilman Rosendahl reconfirmed this support of the occupiers. We sincerely hope that the civic unity demonstrated by our positive working relationship with city officials and the LAPD is not in any way reversed or compromised.
As for a time stamp on our departure, there is none; we are resolved to continue our peaceful occupation.
We are committed to ensuring that our camp is safe and secure for those who have chosen to join the movement, and we are ready to take any appropriate action to ensure that this occupation continues in a manner that is consistent with the health and safety of the “citizens” of Occupy Los Angeles.
Occupiers across America are bravely and against great odds and obstacles exercising the right to have their voices heard in a public forum; we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around this nation and around the globe.
In regards to the lawn and trees, Occupy LA will do anything we can to ensure that the park is returned to its original state, if not a better one, for all Angelinos to enjoy. The occupy movement does not intend to leave any part of any occupied area worse than they found it.
So the horizontal expansion of Occupy Los Angeles proceeds, not necessarily as planned, but in the fashion that the Occupation Movement began. Organically, spontaneously and with a message that will not go away anytime soon.
