Occupy Los Angeles Under Seige

Tonight, hundreds of officers in riot gear marched along Main St and poured into the camp from the south exit of City Hall.  Meanwhile, police with hazmat suits marched in on 1st Street, later arresting occupiers and swabbing their mouths for DNA.  Some occupiers held candles, to which the LAPD responded with fire extinguishers.  There were reports of beatings.  According to the LAPD, 1400 officers made 200 arrests.

And, a look from the inside:

Reportedly, Dodger Stadium has been converted into a booking area to deal with the large volume of arrests.

To make things more interesting, our web site was overloaded with a DDOS attack around midnight, but the offending IP's were blocked and service has returned to normal.  Incidentally, this online attack coincided with the escalation of the LAPD's use of "non-lethal force".

As of 2:45 a.m, a dedicated group is still peacefully occupying the park and the police are still arresting them, one at a time.  Another group is marching towards a nearby bridge.  It has been clear for a while that the police intend to take this park tonight by violent and forceful means, and they are succeeding (in the short term).  We are standing strong, we are standing in truth, and we are standing our ground.  We will be vigilant, We will remember this night, and we will reoccupy.
