We will have a large post-raid rally at Pershing Square at 4:00.  We will be marching from Pershing Square to City Hall.  We will be conducting General Assembly at City Hall at 7:30.

If you haven't done so already, please donate money.  We need to get our people out of jail.  Last reported, we have had 292 arrests.

The entire United States is a Free Speech Zone, and we intend to keep it that way!  Come join the conversation.

RE:ALL ARRESTEES FROM THE DEMONSTRATION RAID - URGENT

My name is Christopher French,

I was arrested along with almost 300 other demonstrators on Tuesday night.

I did not wait, in hopes of being helped by the National Attourney's Guild, or released by the city for lack of just cause. Nor did I post bail at the unjustly high rate set, which I understand is just to deter us from even being able to leave lock-up, since they know that most of our group won't be able to pay that. I immediately contacted the Bail Commisioner (a phone number buried deep inside the fine print on the back of our arresting citations we were issued when booked), and spoke with a VERY KIND young dude named Art, who is extremely sympathetic to the movement. He even thanked me for what we've done.

The Bail Commissioner, in reviewing "our situation" and the shocking conditions and treatment of our group by the LAPD, waived my bail and I just got home. (2:39am on - Thursday, is it?)

I need to speak with those who lead media and communications actions ASAP, in regardds to the treatment and conditions inside LA County Metro holding facility, where most of the demonstrators are still. This was not my first time getting arrested and locked up, but the way things are being handled over there will surprise you.

There isn't any kind of ligitimate "contact" information here, although I personally believe there should be, but I'd like to get ahold of someone named "PJ"(?) or anyone else who may have some authority and ability to help everyone else who paid our high price Tuesday night. I believe I now have the duty to act, having been fortunate enough to get out.

I have nothing to hide, so contact me here: cmfrench@rocketmail.com or here: facebook.com/frenchlaughs

It's me. Mom...

I'm so glad to see that "my kids" have been good.  No foul language that I have witnessed.  No disrespect for the police.  I'm so proud of all of you!

When I heard about them destroying "our city", my heart dropped.  I thought everything would be disbanded.  It looks like I was wrong and you are still fighting.  Stay strong...this is a good movement and we need to "redirect" those that are pushing their own agendas and making us look bad.

I am going to try to get down there on Friday, 12/2.  I have redesigned my booth.  I have a 10-footx10-foot movie screen and projector.  If I am sucessful, we will watch "Loose Change" tomorrow night and have free popcorn (BYOB....that's bring your own beverage...non-alcoholic preferred.).  Start spreading the word to the non-occupy people as well...tentative plan is for the movie to start at 7:30 p.m. in front of the stairs of the City Hall on Spring Street.  I hope General Assembly can work around this.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Love,

Mom

Let's throw a concert... seriously

See, I have been touring the State, and doing concerts for OCCUPY Santa Cruz, Oakland, Davis, and Sacramento.  I met with Dr. Cornel West, rapped with my fellow musicians (some homeless, staying in the camps), and even interviewed one of the UC pepper spray victims.  I am building consensus that OCCUPY should be a broader arrangement, someday, to encompass all types of protests... until kids in our scene just shout OCCUPY when they want to be heard... a beautiful thing to come out of all this hard work...

Anyway, I can help you throw a concert with my generator and gear that is still sitting in the back of my truck.  We have learned some workarounds regarding permits that have been satisfactory to the police in each location I have visited!  We do our political movement songs, and I let anyone play.   For example, random rappers came up in Oakland and Sac, we had a stranger sing a Marley tune there, too.  We had a church group who was doing a food drive in one of the parks come up and do some songs.  So much beautiful stuff, just for the price of gas.

I live in Los Angeles.  I can help you with events.  I can get you web servers and streaming video and we can use our numbers to build a concert.  I own a co-op, it's called build-a-concert.com

Please, help me help you.  It's been a great movement, and a long, strange trip.  I have worked for Grateful Dead off/on for 28 years... let me pass the torch...
