Really excited about making it down to Occupy LA events tomorrow. Wanted to share the following:

1) Despite almost entirely mocking coverage (or none at all) in the press, more Americans already have a favorable view of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement than have a negative one (33% to 27%, the rest undecided/no opinion). One way of looking at it is that OWS is now twice as popular as the US Congress.

3) We shouldn't apologize for not having pre-crafted "talking points," this is honest democracy vs. the pure PR culture we're used to. But there has been one statement from OWS, reached by consensus, pretty great stuff:

My only caveats would be I think we can make education and housing a lot more affordable rights by changing the way they're done. And I think the problem is not so much a human failing like greed (or jealousy over "more successful people" as the right smears it) as it is a set of policies set up to benefit a few at the expense of the many.

FINALLY

4) I'd just like to encourage students to WALK OUT of class whenever you can these days to join the protests. If you're smart enough to understand the enormity of these issues you're smart enough to make up your school work well.
