ON Los Angeles City Hall as a location:

The problrms facing the U.S. today stem from two primary sources that have formed a relationship of convenience. Both GOVERNMENT and CORPORATE AMERICA working in conjunction with one another are responsible for the dire state of the U.S. and in many instances, world economies, and neither is doing anything to fix it.

City Hall and the surrounding Civic Center are strategic locations for many reasons, we are on the front doorstep of government, albeit city government, it is located in the heart of the city and it is within a few short blocks of an area downtown know as Banker's Hill where several large banks have either corporate headquarters of regional branches.

The issue was discussed at numerous meetings and voted on two meetings ago. It is a done deal and we are moving ahead according to plan. I would encourage anyone that is not happy with the decision to find alternative sights to stage a similar protest.

As to the location being right across the street from downtown police headquarters, this is a PEACEFUL demonstration and nobody involved as any intention of breaking any laws.  We are a wide cross section of Americans of all ethnicities, ages, and diverse political leanings that have come together to demonstrate their abject displeasure with the way both Government and corporqte America have formed an aliance that is destroying this country and thie futures of it's citizens and the futures of their children. We are excersizing our rights to stage peaceful protest and we are adamant in our attempt to find REAL solutions.

You can not have attended tonight’s general assembly and still make the claim that “nobody involved has any intention of breaking the laws"

I’m fuming at how poorly this is being put together, and you STILL, even with the above topic, have FAILED to mention to these good people that you are setting them up to crash a permitted police picnic on Saturday in the very same location, which is expecting upwards of 1000 guests.

I don’t trust you. i think people should scrap you altogether and start from scratch with wise and effective decisions.

How are you going to stand in front of LA city hall and make demands of Wall Street? Its ludicrous!!

People kept saying at the meeting tonight “We’re not going slow, we’re going far.” Then why so many poor decisions rushed into existence with no plan. This is crazy. i urge EVERYONE to attend these general assembly’s and fix this problem.

For those of you who are concerned with the police event taking place at the same time, City Hall is a HUGE property, When we marched there last Saturday, the Mayor was also holding an event and there were no conflicts of interest.  

The changes we are hoping to achieve will benefit police as well as ourselves. As we speak police departments across America are being slashed and in many small towns, entire departments have been eliminated. I would hope that they would applaud and support our effort and we have NO intention of disrupting and/or interfering with their event in any way. That is NOT the intention.

In addition, people are failing to realize that there is a LARGE B of A branch across the street from City Hall, in addition to the myriad of banks a few short blocks down the road at Banker's Hill.

of course it's a great location. you can't have a corporatocracy without a government body that aids the corporations. plus you act as if the buildings nearby are not massive US banks.

plus, we aren't doing anything illegal AND we are not protesting the police.

Lobbying and politician campaigns funded by corporations have corrupted Government. 

This ideal. Plus, there is plenty exposure here, we need a place to OCCUPY. 

People in NY are not actually occupying Wallstreet. They are at Liberty Plaza. Doing everything legally and having a place where they can live day by day appropriately, and large enough land mass to so they can sleep in. Get real!

Any camping grounds at Bankers' Hill?  It is at the enemies' door and not the cops' door.  If not now, maybe stroke the cops to bring them on side while building the participant numbers before finally shutting down the banks against reduced police resistance??

I live downtown and there are no campgrounds in the city center. The homeless sleep on the streets that they also piss on, and so I'm sure if they are fine, then the protesters will be fine- as long as they have a thick enough skin. If it's true that there are no permits, that makes things interesting. I'm curious to see how the winds blow. Downtown is no joke, and neither is the LAPD. But they completely underestimate the energy behind this surge of change. But even still that doesn't mean that being hasty is the smartest thing. I guess that waits to be seen. It seems that there is a lot of energy waiting to errupt on both sides if pushed. This is LA, and I'm sure if the fire is stoked enough we could have  a full on riot- or it could be tame and forgettable. Whether that is good or bad remains to be determined
