Foreclosures: Just the beginning
“It has been reported that $13.5 trillion of potential fraud is going uninvestigated and unprosecuted. This settlement is a travesty of justice and a total rip-off of America.”

Greg Hunter report:
Look out below:
The settlement with five major banks announced Thursday will likely cause an avalanche of new foreclosures, millions of them pending already. The reason? The banksters are cleared of criminal charges, paid for with other people's money, so now they can go back to doing what they do best. Ripping off their customers and borrowers. If Mitt Romney thinks the real estate market needs to bottom out, he's about to get his wish. The glut of vacant homes will undoubtedly increase, so it also means existing homeowners will see the value of their homes devalued further. Wonderful.
“Lenders slowed the pace of foreclosures as they negotiated with attorneys generals in all 50 states for more than a year over allegations of faulty and fraudulent paperwork used to repossess homes. With yesterday’s agreement, banks are likely to resume property seizures.“
CPAC: From Reason TV
CPAC news:
“I think these guys are nutjobs. I love to confront lunacy in all its forms, and this is a perfect example of it.”
First of all, the tee-pees keep bringing up this “confrontation” thing, but they always bail when they get a chance to engage in any sort of debate. They were looking for a confrontation at the Rose Parade too. Never happened because they didn't show up after making some faux news by saying they would. They have used language that isn't exactly consistent with their alleged family values credentials. And it's the right-wingers who continue to spew insults, carefully avoiding any substantive issues.
It's really weird when you consider they are supposed to have all the experience in politics and PR, and occupiers are still trying to figure it out. Occupiers show up and protest, much the same as tee-pees did when they decided to become uber-Republikans. So now that we know that OWS has been dismissed as “nutjobs” by another less-than-cerebral member of the right, let's compare the behavior of two representatives. You decide who's dangerous and who's a lunatic using these two examples:
Lady Libertine report
Breitbart sanity fail
If anyone has to “confront lunacy” it seems as if it's the occupiers as opposed to those that think Andrew Breitbart and Sarah Palin are perfectly rational folk heroes. (And smarter than the rest of us, of course). We saw Greg Hunter's reasoned presentation above for example, and there is no shortage of other rational, relatively-sane people arguing the occupiers' case. But for some reason, the opposition can't seem to come to grips with their own philosophy, or at least make a presentation that doesn't include foul language, void of anything resembling substance, directed at occupiers.
The invitation to engage in such a debate stands as there are plenty of qualified people on the occupy side that wouldn't embarrass themselves and their affiliates like Mr. Breitbart did. Answer the challenge if you're not worried about getting owned by some peaceful protesters. We're standing by.
(Andrew Breitbart is welcome to make an ass out of himself anytime without our participation).
Lady Libertine: Media-intel center
Lady Libertine continues to report from CPAC. This sample from her latest adventure at CPAC:
“Also, I spoke to Chris Matthews today at length. I told him I had tried to get in touch with him during Occupy Congress, via his exec producer. He then proceeded to question me a la Socrates...”
Her e-mails are great reading, but I'm sure she wants to make her own report. This will be a hella-blog when she gets time to write it.
Police state: Another bunker
“Four stories underground the Los Angeles Civic Center in a functioning bomb shelter, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Real-time Analysis Critical Response (RACR) center was born amidst the fear and confusion which followed the attacks on September 11, 2001.”

Dem Con: OLA, OSFV, OOC and others join OSD
Occupiers from LA arrived in San Diego just in time to meet up with OSD and others from Occupy OC and Occupy SFV for an NDAA protest outside the convention center where Dems were holding a conference. Blogger-quality video here:
'Severely conservative'
“I know conservatism,' Romney said, repeating the word or its variants 24 times in his speech. 'Because I have lived conservatism.'”
That's great Mitt. The severity of your conservatism may be a medical problem. You should get it checked.
