Thanks for Disclaimer Sue

Thanks for Disclaimer Sue,  it may come in handy girl.

Will you be joining the march as a participant, we need to overturn a plethora of legislation that should still be illegal. Starting with The Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLB), also known as the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999.

Your help as a lawyer would be much more appreciated if concentrated on drafting a letter to congress, signed by 1000's, in repealing that act.

You have made your point regarding overpasses, onward & forward hun.

THIS IS CRAZY!

I heard this raised at the GA the other night and was wary off it but didn't try to block. I wish I had. Has this been sanctioned by the GA? It seems none of you involved have any idea of the legal ramifications. Listen to Sue and call this off. There's already been one accident for god's sake. What if a motorist dies - you will discredit the whole movement!

Lucky Sue wasn't advising MLK & Vietnam Protester's!

If MLK (civil rights) & Muhammad Ali, David Miller & Bertrand Russell (Vietnam) listened to Sue, Brothers & Sisters would still be riding in the back, and used as fodder on the front lines in Vietnam, along with the poorer members of the whites.

If we were debating the corruption & greed of the 1% fine, listen to Sue.

If we are revolting against the corruption & greed of the 1%, "TOLL THE BELLS OF WAR", resistance without violence I pray. But it appears that our foes are preparing for a war through their antagonistic voices & preparation to divide & disperse the cause. Just look at & follow the bullshit actions of the mayor of LA & Oakland.

It May Be Illegal but Press On

Civil Disobedience.  MLK was met with resistance by law.  Gandhi literally refused the law.  It is the responsibility of the people to defy the law when the law is used to enable corruption and defend a fundamentally flawed system.  The government will use the law to make us stop but unless we are able to persvere even in the face of prosecution then how can we say we are serious?

"If... the machine of government... is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law."  ~Henry David Thoreau, On the Duty of Civil Disobediance, 1849

Think

By protesting illegally, you're inviting confrontation.  I'm a strong supporter of this movement, but it needs to be done in such a way that gives them no ammunition.  No plausable deniability.  As long as you give them grounds to say, "They were breaking the law," they will not feel unjustified in enforcing it.  Don't give them any reason to believe they are in the right.

There are ways to protest legally, this is not one of them.  I would encourage supporters to continue this protest, but to find a different location that does not invite disaster.  Please note that if you examine this law, you'll find its purpose is safety, not to silence you.
