Requesting Occupy Chicago's Aid on behalf of Patrick Jon

On January 23, 2013 the following proposal was passed at the Occupy Los Angeles General Assembly.

“Requesting Occupy Chicago's Aid on behalf of Patrick Jon"

Patrick Jon, Michael C, Kate P

What:

To request aid from Occupy Chicago, via Occupy LA media outlets, to assist Patrick in traveling to the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin for the memory of the six victims and the Priest remaining in a coma, and to the Shalom Memorial Park for the memory of Aaron Swartz. Patrick is requesting assistance to drive to the two mentioned destination and returning to Chicago on February 2nd. All expenses such as gas and food will be covered by Patrick. Occupy Chicago is in no way obliged to fulfill the request upon Los Angeles GA approval, but any and all assistance is more than appreciated.

How:

The Endorsement of Patrick Jon by Occupy Los Angeles, the use of Occupy Media outlets to contact Occupy Chicago, then hopefully a response for assistance for February 2nd, to visit and pay respects to the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and to Aaron Swartz.

An example of, but not limited to, a statement for assistance:

Facebook:

"Patrick Jon, an OLA activist, is traveling to Chicago and is asking for OCHI's help in visiting the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and Shalom Memorial Park on Feb. 2nd to honor the memory of the six Sikh victims and Aaron Swartz. Expenses provided, but in need of a vehicle, reliable company, and Solidarity. PM for details."

Twitter:

"@OccupyChicago OLA Activist Patrick Jon needs aid in visiting Oak Creek and Shalom Memorial Park to pay respects. Help a comrade’s journey."

Why:

"I have never sought assistance from the movement. Para todos todo para nosotros nada was a philosophy I've personally held throughout. Due to recent events, I have been more and more forced into seclusion, away from friends and loved ones alike. I do not wish for that fate. Now, I would like your help. I'm blurring the lines of comrade and friends as I am legitimately asking for the assistance of the people I have grown with and value; to seek my safe passage so that I may pay my respects to the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and to Aaron Swartz. Thank you.”
