• Elderly Couple Killed Two-Vehicle Collision near Road 19 and Avenue 14 in Madera

    Lloyce Olson and Wilbur Olson Killed, Guadalupe Gonzalez injured in Madera Two-Car Collision

    Madera, California (February 8, 2017) –An elderly couple was killed, and two men injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Madera, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    The incident occurred at about 10.00 a.m. between as 2007 Ford Crown Victoria and 2008 Ford at the intersection of Road 19 and Avenue 14, near Bonita Market and Taqueria.

    Reportedly, 86-year-old Wilbur Olson and his wife Lloyce Olson, 83, were traveling southbound on Road 19 in the 2007 Ford collided when he stopped at a stop sign, but failed to clear the intersection.

    He then proceeded to the intersection and collided with the 2008 Ford driven by 61-year-old Guadalupe Gonzalez.  Gonzalez was heading west of on Avenue 14 at the time of the crash.

    Lloyce Olson was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Wilbur Olson was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where she succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at about 2 p.m.

    Guadalupe was also taken to Madera Community Hospital with minor injuries.

    Preliminary investigations showed that the decedents were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

    Alcohol was not presumed to be a factor in the incident.


    The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause.
